  1. I love the new layout, Mr Alan :) It's an improvement from the earlier one, because it's brighter and easier to read!
I think you a mistake - You said that Felix is in the lead, but it says that he has 8 points, and Ritish has 10. I think you forgot to update Felix's points? Just pointing it out :)
    Thank me Felix :D

  2. 1. What is a paleoanthropologist?
A paleoanthropologist is someone who studies human fossils.

2.They analyzed what sort of bones from two early hominid relatives of humans?
    The central wrist bone.

    3. What are the names of the two ancient human relatives they studied and how long ago did they live?
Australopithecus anamensis and Australopithecus afarensis (the "Lucy" fossil). Australopithecus anamensis is 600,000 years older than Australopithecus afarensis.

    4. Why did they study these sorts of bones?
To see how these bones differ between arboreal animals (animals that live in trees) and more terrestrial ones (animals that live on land).

5.What did their findings show and what reasons did Macho give for these results?
the fossilized wrist bones suggested that humans switched from trees to living on land between 4.2 and 3.5 million years ago.
Macho said this was because the wrist bones of the tree dwellers experienced more stress on the pinky side, while the terrestrial dwellers experienced more stress on their thumb side.

    Thank you, :)
Hope they are right, my source was a news article.

  9. 1)Only the top surface of the cat's tongue touched the liquid.

    2)Gravity.

3)Inertia is the tendency of an object to continue doing what it is, i.e. if it is at rest, it will remain at rest, or the same if it is in uniform motion. The cats use this force in order to overcome/balance gravity so the liquid continues its motion and comes straight into the cat's mouth when it whips its tongue back creating a column of the liquid.

    4)The surface of the liquid.

5)The scientists tested their theory by first capturing cat's drinking with high-speed cameras and then slowing the video down to calculate the frequency and speed of the laps. They then tested this on other cats.

6)The lapping speed of bigger cats will be slower as they have larger tongues and must thus balance gravity and inertia to drink properly by slowing down.

My source:-http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2010/cat-lapping-1112.html (check out the video on this site!)

  10. Brilliant Ritish! That was certainly a quick response to the question and all answers were correct. It is the tip of the cat's tongue that does the important work of pulling a column of liquid, working against gravity, into the cat's mouth.
Everyone should check out the video Ritish mentioned or you can access it here at http://news.discovery.com/videos/animals-cats-drink-differently-than-dogs.html

    Ritish gets 7 points!

  29. Paleoanthropology which combines the disciplines of paleontology and physical anthropology, is the study of ancient humans as found in fossil hominid evidence such as petrifacted bones and footprints.
