1. fill the 8 l bottle up with water then fill the 3l jug with water from 8l, leaving 5l in the 8l. empty smaller jug. 3l from the 5l in to the smaller jug from the bigger jug. empty 3l jug again.empty remaining 2l into 3l jug and fill 8l jug. 1l from a 8 litre jug is used to fill 3l jug, bigger jug now has 7l. empty smaller jug then take 3l of water from the 7litres know leaving 4l

1)Fill small 3 liter jug with water. Pour into large 8 liter jug.
ReplyDeleteRepeat. Now 6 liters of water in large jug.
Repeat again but stop when large jug full. Leaves 1 liter in small jug.
Empty large jug. Pour water from small jug into large jug.
Refill small jug and pour into large jug.
There are now 4 liters of water in large jug.
