1.     There is a pylon in Sydney’s Darling harbor supporting a flag pole.  

One third of the pylon/flag pole is underground. Another one fifth is under the surface of the water. What is seen above the water is 21.5meters long. What is the overall length of this pylon/pole? Show all you’re working out or no point!

2.     Which word comes next in the following sequence?
Indium, Vanadium, Xenon, Lithium, Carbon, __________

3.     Who is this?

                      
               


4.     My pet number is 142857. This number does amazing things when multiplied by integers less than 7. Explain what happens <7 and when 7 is used.

5.     Find out one other amazing trick my pet number can perform.

    4. if the number is times by a number by a number higher than 7 more. add remove the extra numbers from the original 142857 and add it to the number
    e.g. 8 x 142857 = 1142856
    1 + 142856 = 142857

    exceptions are multiples of 7

    5. the number 142857 can be multiplied by numbers less then 7 all the original gigits will be in the answer

    1/3 = underground 5/15
    1/5 = underwater 3/15
    21.5 - above 7/15
    under water and ground = 8/15 15- 8 = 7 7/15
    21.5 / 7 = 1/15 = 3.07
    5 x 3.07 = 15.35( under ground)
    3x 3.07 = 9.21 (under water)
    9.21 + 15.35 + 21.5 = 46.06
    entire length = 46.06m
